Vaginismus is a sexual dysfunction that cause an impossibility or difficulty on achieving vaginal penetration, an involuntary contraction of the external third of vaginal muscles, pelvis, thighs that occurs, in response to the attempted of vaginal penetration, which interferes with intercourse.
It is a reflex reaction of fear, against the anticipation of pain.
Characteristics:
Impossibility on vaginal introducing of tampon, finger, ovules, penis, difficult on gynecological examination, phobia of penetration, absence of genital examination or masturbation, disintegration of the genital area to the body schema.
